Canned Beer Day

Apparently yesterday was the 75th anniversary of the arrival of canned beer onto the American beer landscape. That has been both good and bad but I think we're taking a turn for the good thanks to folks like Oskar Blues, Butternuts, Reading, 21st Ammendment and now, apparently, Avery.

So be sure to celebrate your own way this week. Most good beer bars around here carry at minimum something from Oskar Blues.

Butternuts from New York recently arrived on the scene and I've spotted their cans at Victoria Gastro Pub and Max's.

I am excited about Averys offerings in a can. The
Dales in a can changed my perception forever and now I think it is just fun to find other good cans

Any canned beers in stores other than Oskars?

I have enjoyed that. I was thinking that I'd look for others once the weather improves and outdoor activities make cans more useful.

Two over looked canned beers have been Brooklyn's Pilsner and Pilsner Urquell.

HowChow,

I've seen several 21st Ammendment offerings in stores, as well as Reading's Lager. I haven't been to Perfect Pour in a while but I have to assume they've got the Butternuts brewery cans as well.

Brandon,

I haven't seen the Brooklyn Pilsner in can yet :( I've seen it available on a website for a DC can-only bar though.

Last summer Perfect Pour and IM Wine both had 6 packs of the Brooklyn Pils. I hope it comes back!?!
